since i have recently taken up commuting from salt lake to provo on a daily basis, i figured i might as well enrich my mind during that time rather that turn it to mush. so, i started listening to les miserables by victor hugo. it has been on my book list for a while, so i am going to knock it out in the next two months, give or take. it is one of those stories that is close to my heart. anyways, i was listening to it the other day and i want to share with you something that monsieur myriel (aka the bishop or monsiegneur bienvenu) said:
"let us never fear robbers nor murderers. those are dangers from without, petty dangers. let us fear ourselves. prejudices are the real robbers; vices are the real murderers. the great dangers lie within ourselves. what matters it what threatens our head or our purse! let us think only of that which threatens our soul."
